Louisa Huber's father decides to uproot his family and take them to America, and leave their home in Germany forever. Louisa fears what is in store for her. She is a homebody who no longer has a home.

I think I've read most of RB's books under this pen name and quite like most of them. Ms. Burns is quite capable of developing excellent characters and building a world. See, for example, Have a Heart or Southern Discomfort. But ...Neither the world she creates in Wyoming nor the characters she creates in Where the Clouds Touch are fully developed. For example, there are two housekeepers on the ranch. They overhear our heroine's first discipline. What happens when next they meet? Nor is there any real development in the lead characters' DD relationship.
What Ms. Burns hasn't yet learned is how to proof her books. I thought she was getting better at it or getting better help. No evidence of that here ... or, as she would put it, "hear."
If you haven't read anything by Ms. Burns, please do so but start with another one of her books.

The story line was Ok but the grammatical and historical mistakes, YIKES!
Rachel Burns again, doesn't disappoint. Well written, good plot line and a steamy, page turner.
This book gave a bit of history along with a domestic discipline relationship. Having family come from Europe, I could relate to story.
This was a light story, there really no agust. DD relationship that was filled with love. Worth reading.. a good story for new readers that want read in something about spankings.
Who knew that this is just what I needed to read next! I love the journey of the immigrant to these shores but I would love to have a story that sends the American to Italy or France , a switch around story. I know it has happened in real life to several black people. Thank you for this.
I've liked most of Rachel's books, however this is my favorite thus far. I loved the story line, the history, the love between the two main characters and the build up of the supporting ones. Well written, quite entertaining, and heart moving...everything I look for in a book. One I will read over and over again.
This story is great! I really felt for all the characters. I re-read it occasionally. I'd give RB 5-stars but her consistent grammar errors and typos just prevent me from doing so. She's a great story teller, develops her characters, pulls the reader into the worlds she creates, and has her own unique style. I wish she would just take that last step towards professionalism and get a proof reader.
